A member of the Political Dialogue Forum currently being held at the United Nations Headquarters in Geneva, Amal Bugaighis, explained that the absence of the former acting UN envoy, Stephanie Williams, had a negative role.
Amal Bugaighis wrote on her official Facebook page that Stephanie was absent; thus the dialogue dissipated, and in the evening session, the “Cyrenaica” team withdrew due to the absence of standards in dealing with proposals for solutions, and “after threatening us with penalties for obstructionists; our response was that we will jointly file the complaint against the mission’s lack of respect for the work methodology; the threat and the truce were withdrawn, and the call to reconcile was withdrawn.”
These remarks come at a time when the technical committee within the mission is working to harmonize the proposals that were submitted by the members of the dialogue forum Wednesday; to come up with one formula about the constitutional basis before submitting it to the House of Representatives.
