The Secretary-General of the League of Arab States, Ahmed Aboul Gheit, discussed with the Algerian Foreign Minister Ramtane Lamamra a number of important issues on the Arab scene, including the Libyan crisis, the problem of the Renaissance Dam, as well as the Palestinian issue.
Aboul Gheit congratulated Lamamra, during a phone call, on assuming the foreign ministry portfolio in his country, expressing the success of his mission under the leadership of the Algerian diplomacy.
An official source at the General Secretariat of the League of Arab States said that during the call, Aboul Gheit expressed his appreciation for the extensive experience that Lamamra has in the field of bilateral and multilateral diplomatic work, and his confidence that he will represent a great addition to Algerian and Arab diplomacy.
