The General Department of Coast Security reported that on Friday, the department’s marine boat p301 intercepted a fishing boat carrying 97 illegal immigrants of different nationalities off the western coast of Tripoli.
The boat left at 07:23 and was intercepted at 01:45, and it entered the Tripoli seaport at 22:55.
The migrants were handed over to the General Administration of Coast Guard, Tripoli, after providing them with humanitarian assistance, and they were handed over to the Anti-Illegal Migration Agency by the head of the Tripoli Coast Guard Point, with formal hand-over forms.
The General Administration of Coastal Guard stressed that it will not tolerate those who threaten the security and safety of Libya and will bring those responsible for violations to justice.
