Erdogan meets with Libyan PM in Turkey

The Libyan Prime Minister Abdul Hamid DDbeibah held a meeting with Turkish President Recep Erdogan on Saturday s part of a visit he is making to Turkey, accompanied by a delegation of officials.

After the reception, which was closed to the press, a meeting was held between the Turkish and Libyan delegations.

During his official visit to the Turkish capital, Ankara, Dbeibah met separately with the Turkish Minister of Defense and the Chief of Intelligence.

It is worth noting that, under the 2019 agreement agreed upon by Ankara and the Government of National Accord, Turkey demanded greater rights in vast areas of the Mediterranean but faced challenges from other countries including Greece.

Turkey and the previous Government of National Accord also signed a military agreement along with a maritime border agreement that granted Ankara more rights to explore energy in the Mediterranean in November 2019.
