A source from the city of Sabratha told “218News” that an explosion occurred inside a site for the manufacture of immigration boats, in the early hours of Saturday morning. The explosion was likely caused by two air strikes, carried out by an unknown drone.
According to the source, the factory is located near the “Jalloul” mill, in the Kharasan region, adjacent to the coastal road, in the center of Sabratha, and is used to prepare boats for illegal immigration and human smuggling.
So far, the security authorities have not issued a statement explaining the circumstances of the incident, while “218News” learned that the location was closed and the media was prevented from press coverage for fear of revealing casualties.
