The Italian ItaMilRadar website, which specializes in tracking military flights, monitored, on Tuesday, a US Navy “Lockheed EP-3E” reconnaissance plane, which carried out an intelligence surveillance mission off the western coast of Libya.
The website stated that it tracked the American plane, since it left the Greek Souda Gulf, heading towards Libyan airspace, until the loss of the signal at all tracking sites at 12:30 pm.
The aerial reconnaissance movement is active off the coast of Libya and within its airspace, from time to time, carried out by US Navy planes, sometimes, and through the air operations of the European Union’s Operation IRINI, at other times.
