In a statement on the occasion of the International Day of Democracy, September 15, the National Human Rights Commission in Libya stressed the importance of raising awareness of democracy in societal circles, especially among youth and women groups, to create a society aware of its civic role.
In its statement, which was published on its official page, the Commission noted the role of the media and civil society institutions as a key partner in the success of the electoral process, and educating voters about the importance of participation.
The Commission considered that the voter education process is the guarantor of the positive and effective participation of citizens in decision-making, which ultimately leads to the strengthening of stability in Libya.
