African Union sends mission to support reconciliation efforts in Libya

The French news agency reported that the Congolese President, Denis Sassou Nguesso, who is assigned by the African Union to the Libyan file, has dispatched, on Monday, a reconciliation mission to Libya to assess the situation and reconciliation before holding general elections next December.

The mission includes 13 people, and it will meet with a number of political and religious officials in Tripoli, Benghazi, Tobruk and Misurata.

The mission will also hold meetings with Libyans living in Cairo and Tunis.

The mission is set to also participate in the international conference on Libya, organized by France on November 12.
