El-Sisi calls for ending foreign interference in the region and respect of peoples’ decisions

Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi stressed the principle of joint responsibility in confronting the challenges of the region, especially the phenomenon of terrorism and extremism, calling for comprehensive approaches in dealing with regional crises.

During his participation in the extraordinary meeting of the Arab Intelligence Forum, held in Cairo, El-Sisi stressed the necessity of ending foreign interference in the affairs of the Arab region, and respecting the decision and will of the peoples and the sovereignty of states and their institutions.

The Egyptian president added, according to a statement attributed to the Egyptian presidential spokesman, that ending foreign interference would stop terrorist and takfiri organizations’ exploitation of the region’s crises and their repercussions.

Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi said his country has spared no effort to help countries reach safety, through a comprehensive political solution and to ensure simultaneous steps and procedures based on the unification of the military institution, the exit of foreign forces and mercenaries, as well as ending the phenomenon of armed militias and activating the will of people.

It is worth noting that the 5+5 Joint Military Commission held a meeting at the beginning of this month, hosted by the Egyptian capital, Cairo, with representatives of the countries of Sudan, Chad and Niger, and in the presence of the Head of the UN mission, Jan Kubis, to set up a joint communication and coordination mechanism to ensure the safe exit of all foreign fighters.
