US interested in unification of Libya’s Central Bank

The Governor of the Central Bank of Libya, “Al-Siddiq Al-Kabir” discussed with Eric Mayer, Deputy Assistant Secretary of the US Treasury – on Monday in Tunisia, a number of economic and financial files, and the plan of the Central Bank of Libya to push forward economy and development in partnership with the Government of National Unity – according to what was reported by the Central Bank’s media platforms.

The talks were attended by the Deputy Ambassador of the United States to Libya, and the two sides also reviewed the efforts made to unify the Central Bank of Libya after the end of the international auditing.

This meeting comes as part of a package of US approaching steps, and the growing interest the US administration is paying to the Libyan file at all political, security and economic levels.
