A number of Tripoli battalions reject the sacking of Abdel Basset Marwan

A number of military battalions in the capital, Tripoli, rejected the decision of the Presidential Council to dismiss the commander of the Tripoli Military Zone, Abdel Basset Marwan.

In a statement addressed to the Presidential Council, the Supreme Commander of the Libyan Army, the Prime Minister and the Minister of Defense, the battalions considered that the dismissal decision was subject to the presidential dictates of those who do not want the military institution to stand on its own feet, in the service of a foreign agenda, as described in the statement.

The battalions also considered the dismissal decision as service to chaos and subject to agendas concerned with destroying and controlling the military institution, and blamed the Presidential Council for the consequences of this decision that would have unimaginable consequences.

This statement was signed by the Tripoli Revolutionaries Brigade, the “Eighth” Al-Nawasi Force, the Deterrence Agency to Combat Organized Crime and Terrorism, the Stabilization Support Agency, the 42nd Infantry Brigade, the Central Security Abu Salim Branch, the Joint Operations Room of the South Axis, the Public Security Agency and Security Positions, the Martyr Brigade, the Commander of the Fourth Force and the Commander of the Ain Zara axis, as well as the Head of the Central Support Office.
