The spokesman for the High Council of State in Libya, Mohammed Abdel Nasser, revealed that there will be an upcoming meeting between the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Aqila Saleh and the Head of High Council of State, Khaled Al-Mashri to find a solution to the current political impasse, especially in the election file.
Abdel Nasser added to Sputnik news agency that the upcoming meeting will discuss resolving the political stalemate, and taking the necessary steps, especially after making sure that the electoral process will be postponed, and nothing stands in the way of that except the announcement of the House of Representatives or the High National Elections Commission.
He pointed out that among the ideas the High Council of State will propose is that parliamentary elections be held first, and then open the file of the constitution and the draft that was brought by the Constitutional Drafting Assembly, and possibly amending it or adopting it as it is by the new House of Representatives.
It is worth noting that the High Council of State called for postponing the presidential and parliamentary elections to February next year.
