Libya loses 280.000 barrels per day of its daily oil production

218News has learned from an official oil source that the general production in Libya lost 280,000 barrels per day after a closure carried out by gunmen affiliated with the Petroleum Facilities Guard in the western region of Hamada, linking between the El Sharara A9 field, operated by Acacus Oil Operations, and the port of Zawiya, late on a Sunday night.

The Petroleum Facilities Guard demanded that Ahmed Ammar continue to head the “Acacus” company operating the field, expressing their rejection of the decision of the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the National Oil Corporation, Mustafa Sanalla, to restructure the management of “Acacus.”

The source added that the general production in Libya fell to levels of 950,000 barrels per day, due to the new closures, while it was more than 1.2 barrels per day.
