Maiteeq and Norland stress need for pushing for holding Libya elections

The candidate for the Libyan presidential elections, Ahmed Maiteeq, said that he had a meeting on Monday with the US special envoy and ambassador to Libya, Richard Norland.

In a post on his official account on Facebook, Maiteeq added that the meeting focused on coordinating international efforts to maintain stability and push the political process in a positive manner, stressing the need to hold parliamentary and presidential elections.

It is worth noting that a meeting brought together Maiteeq with a number of presidential candidates on December 21, in a meeting that observers said was aimed at forming a parallel force in the face of Prime Minister Abdul-Hamid Dbeibah’s candidacy.
