HNEC tells 218News that its website has been hacked

A member of the High National Elections Commission (HNEC), Abdul Hakim Balkhair, confirmed to 218News that the official website of the Commission was hacked, pointing out that the technical staff started tracking the source of the hack and recovering the site.

Balkhair denied the validity of the latest statement attributed to the HNEC, which was published on the official website on Friday evening, and included allegations about the declaration of force majeure, accusing a candidate who has a dual citizenship of using military force against the commission, in addition to forgery of other candidates for their university degrees.

It is noteworthy that the official page of the HNEC on Facebook was hacked on November 15, 2021, coinciding with the beginning of accepting candidacy papers for the presidential and parliamentary elections, before the technical staff succeeded in handling the matter and recovering the page.
