Hamada oil pipeline reopened, crude operations at Sharara field resumed

Akakus Oil Company announced the reopening of the Hamada “Al Rayana” oil pipeline, and the resumption of crude oil pumping operations from Sharara field to Al-Zawiya tanks.

In the meantime, Prime Minister Abdel Hamid Dabaiba, during his cabinet meeting Monday, demanded a number of members of the Petroleum Facilities Guard in the South West Branch immediately open Sharara, El Feel, El Wafa and Hamada fields, instructing the formation of a committee to follow up on the difficulties facing workers in the oil sector to perform their duties.

The South West Branch of the Petroleum Facilities Guard closed the Hamada valve-pipeline of the Akakus Company on December 20, to demand financial dues and the settlement of job positions, which led to a loss of exports estimated at more than 300,000 barrels of oil per day.
