Algeria renews rejection to foreign intervention in Libya

Algerian Foreign Minister Ramtane Lamamra renewed his country’s position on foreign interference in Libya.

These remarks came in a seminar organized by the National Institute for Comprehensive Strategic Studies, entitled “Strategic challenges in the African Sahel region and their implications for stability in the region,” on Saturday in the presence of the former President of the Republic of Niger, Mahamadou Issoufou.

Lamamra added that Niger’s positions are similar to Algeria in many cases, including condemning the military intervention in Libya, as well as the marginalization of African countries in international conferences, noting that Algeria has earlier condemned the military intervention in Libya and is still against any foreign intervention in this neighboring country, according to the Algerian newspaper “Echaab”.
