The House of Representatives, in its official session on Tuesday in Tobruk, granted confidence to the new government headed by Fathi Bashagha with 92 votes.
The government is headed by Fathi Bashagha, in addition to his three deputies, Ali Al-Qatrani, Salem Al-Zadma, and Khaled Al-Osta, while the number of ministerial portfolios reached 29, along with 6 state ministers.
Women did not record a wide presence in the new cabinet, with the exception of the Ministry of Culture, which went to Salha Al-Drouqi, in addition to Intisar Abboud, who obtained the position of Minister of State for Women’s Affairs.
218News had learned earlier from an informed source that the parliament session, which was scheduled to be held on Monday, to give confidence to the cabinet formation proposed by Prime Minister-designate Fathi Bashagha, was postponed to Tuesday due to the lack of a quorum, and the delay in the attendance of a number of deputies.
While the media office of Bashagha stated that the latter is in the process of making some amendments to the cabinet line-up to be presented to the House of Representatives to gain confidence.
