The Libyan Prime Minister, Fathi Bashagha, affirmed his keenness to assume his duties smoothly in accordance with the law, and to carry out his work duties from the capital, Tripoli.
In a phone call with US Ambassador to Libya Richard Norland on Saturday, Bashagha reiterated his commitment to creating all appropriate conditions for holding presidential and parliamentary elections, according to the agreed-upon roadmap.
For his part, Norland called on both Dabaiba and Bashagha to avoid violence, pointing to his country’s support for peaceful solutions and restoring momentum towards elections, in addition to encouraging the two parties to consider ways in which the country’s affairs can be managed.
