Libyan embassy in Kyiv denies Russian recruitment pf Libyans to fight in Ukraine

The Libyan embassy in the Ukrainian capital, Kyiv, denied the news circulating about Russia recruiting mercenaries from Libya to participate in the fight against Ukraine.

The embassy, in a statement published on its official page, forfeited its responsibility for “any shameful act issued by people who do not represent the Libyan state.”

The media recently circulated news that Russia had recruited Libyans and Syrians in preparation for their transfer to Ukraine to fight there.

While Libyan sources denied this news; the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights confirmed that Russia has recruited nearly 40,000 Syrian fighters to participate in the fight with it against Ukraine.
