5+5 Joint Military Commission describes unity government’s conduct as irresponsible

The Joint Military Commission “5 + 5” warned against the practices of the “outgoing” unity government, according to what was stated in a statement issued by representatives of the General Command in the commission on Tuesday.

The statement said: “The outgoing government of national unity is closing the airspace between the east and west for political reasons, which increases the suffering of citizens, in addition to stopping the payment of salaries for members of the armed forces three months ago, despite the approach of the holy month of Ramadan, and despite the General Command providing all data of the national number. To the Administrative Control Authority, which in turn reviewed it and verified its authenticity, which is the responsibility and consequences of the government and its head, Abdul Hamid al-Dabaiba, which may result in the collapse of the military track and a return to the square of chaos and division.

The statement addressed the Libyan people and the United Nations Support Mission in Libya; in order for them to have a clear position towards this government and its irresponsible behavior, he also demanded that the salaries of members of the armed forces be paid without any delay, and that politicians not interfere in the work of the “5 + 5” joint military commission.
