The members of the 5+5 Joint Military Commission from the western region warned of the danger of returning the country to division, stressing that their technical role is not related to political strife.
The members of the 5+5 commission confirmed, during their meeting with the Deputy Head of the Presidential Council in his capacity as Chief Commander of the Libyan Army, Abdullah Al-Lafi, on Monday, to discuss the repercussions of the statement of the other five members of the commission from the eastern region; and the need to find radical solutions to the problem of disbursing the salaries of all members of the Libyan army, as well as the hatted salaries in all sectors of the state.
Al-Lafi renewed the Presidential Council’s support for the work of the 5+5 Joint Military Commission, stressing that any problems in their tasks would undermine the achieved successes, represented in the ceasefire and stability, adding that this may negatively affect the security of the country, its integrity and unity, according to a presidential council statement.
