Libya abstains from voting on IAEA resolution against Iran

Libya abstained from voting in the Board of Governors of the International Atomic Energy Agency in favor of a resolution officially criticizing Iran for its lack of cooperation with the agency.

On Wednesday, the Board of Governors of the International Atomic Energy Agency adopted, by a large majority in Vienna, the resolution submitted by the United States and the three countries, Britain, France and Germany.

The resolution was approved by 30 members but was opposed by Russia and China, while India, Libya and Pakistan abstained from voting.

The resolution calls on Iran to cooperate with the International Atomic Energy Agency, which criticized the lack of credible answers regarding the traces of enriched uranium found at 3 undeclared sites.
