Egypt says reaching solution in Libya should be based on ‘dialogue’

Egyptian minister of foreign affairs Sameh Shoukry  affirmed that Cairo’s political stance towards reaching a solution in Libya is based on dialogue. He added that the political solution is the best option for Tripoli’s currant situation.

Shoukry ‘s statement came during his meeting with UN envoy to Libya Ghassan Salama and his deputy for political affairs, Stephanie T. Williams, on February 3.

Foreign Ministry Spokesman Ahmed Hafez said that the meeting of Shoukry  and Salama in Cairo discussed the latest Libyan escalations and exchanged views on ways to push forward the political process as well as counter-terrorism efforts to restore security and stability in the country.

Hafez said that Salama briefed Shukri on the results of his latest consultations and meetings regarding the Libyan political scene.
