A well-informed source told “218News” that the release of the channel’s correspondent in Sirte, Ali Al-Rifawi, is expected within the next two days.
Al-Rifawi had been detained by the Internal Security Forces in Sirte for nearly three months, without any legal justification.
A number of local and international human rights organizations called on Rifawi’s detainees to release him, or reveal his fate, while “218News” condemned the detention incident through a statement, calling for the immediate release of Rifawi.
