Campaign launched to close shops selling military uniforms in Tobruk

A shop selling weapons and military uniforms in central Tobruk, eastern Libya, was stormed by officers from Tobruk Security Directorate on Sunday.

The campaign was launched after a meeting between Tobruk’s security director and the director of the Municipal Guard to discuss means to address the problem of shops selling military costumes, head of Tobruk Municipality Faraj boel Khattabia said.

He added that some outlawed groups buy military uniforms and wear them during night robberies and other attacks on citizens.

“Any shop that will sell military clothes and weapons without a permit will be closed,” he concluded.
