LNA’s operation in south Libya affects regional security: analyst

Egyptian expert in militant groups, Munir Adeeb, praised on Tuesday the Libyan National Army (LNA) for launching a liberation operation in south Libya, saying it was necessary to eradicate terrorist groups and gangs in the region.

Adeeb added that most of terrorist groups in Libya are affiliated to cross-border organizations, pointing out that the LNA’s operation in the south affects regional and Arab national security.

Adeeb noted that the liberation of the Libyan territories from terrorist groups will be reflected on the political scene, which will unite only by liberating the entire Libyan soil from extremist groups.

Political expert, Basel El-Turgoman, said the LNA was able to break the equation that wanted to keep the situation in Libya as it is.

He added that the military operation in the south saved the region from terrorist groups, organized crime, and the Chadian rebels, pointing out that the army’s move was very important at this time, and has received broad international support after penetrating into the depth of Libya.

With regard to the post-liberation phase of the south, Turgoman explained that the army must now deploy its forces in the liberated areas so as to maintain its control over them, pointing out that unifying the Libyan military will not be achieved without the victory of LNA, as he put it.
