Sabha sees remarkable stability: activist

Municipal Council of Sabha started to hold its meetings inside the city after it was looking for a force that would secure it, Mohamed al-Ansari, a civil activist, told 218News on Monday.

He pointed out that the city is witnessing a remarkable stability after the military operations launched by the Libyan National Army (LNA), noting that Sabha’s residents welcomed the LNA forces in the city.

Al-Ansari said he is optimistic about the situation in sabha, adding that the city has faced many problems over the past years in social, service, and security sectors, but the coming days will be more stable.

Al-Ansari called for the activation of courts and police stations, which can solve the problems of citizens in Sabha and the whole south, explaining that the current climate is more appropriate to work on achieving a comprehensive reconciliation.

The LNA, led by Khalifa Haftar, has launched a military operation in the southwestern districts in Libya to “secure and protect the residents from terrorists and criminal groups.” The operation is aimed to protect the people from the terrorists and criminals who work for foreign parties to change the topography of Libyan and its identity.
