Libyan boxer Zinad qualifies to World Boxing Super Series

Libyan boxer Malik Zinad beat Cuban boxer Julio Acosta in Malta as part of the International Boxing Association championship on Saturday.

Zinad beat Acosta in the fourth round with a knockout, thus qualifying to play in the World Boxing Super Series for light heavyweight in April. Zinad won his 11 latest games with knockouts.

Zinad, 24, won the title of the World Boxing Federation (WBF) International Light Heavyweight Champion in September 2016 by beating Attila Palko by a technical knockout (TKO) in Maribor, Slovenia.

He was born in the Salah Al-Deen area of Tripoli and made his professional debut in October 2015.

Zinad was forced to leave Libya in 2013 to escape armed conflicts after the 2011 revolution.
