South military commander discusses with Haftar security plan in Sabha

Military Governor of southern Libya, Al-Mabrouk al-Ghazawi, discussed Monday with General Commander of the Libyan National Army (LNA), Khalifa Haftar, the security plan that will be applied in Sabha to combat crimes in southwestern city.

After the LNA controlled most of the southern region during its military operation, Ghazawi held a meeting with Haftar to discuss the recent developments in Sabha.

Sabha has been one of the most important havens for terrorists and criminal gangs to carry out attacks, human and drug trafficking, weapon smuggling.

Much like other southern cities, Sabha has also been a transit for illegal immigration.

After witnessing chaos for many years prior to the 2011 uprising, stability seems to prevail in the southern region after the LNA largely liberated it from armed group.

In an indication that stability is making a comeback, the LNA agreed Sunday to resume flights to oil fields in the southern region, including al-Feel and al-Sharara oil field, according to Commander of the Petroleum Facilities Guard (PFG), Major General Naji Al-Maghrabi.
