Libyan Red Crescent evacuates residents from Tripoli’s war-affected areas

The Libyan Red Crescent has evacuated residents from the war-affected areas in Tripoli, it was announced Tuesday.

In a statement, the Libyan Red Crescent also said its team distributed Ramadan food packages to the families in displaced centers to alleviate their suffering amid the ongoing battles in the capital between the west-based Government of National Accord (GNA) and eastern Libyan National Army (LNA).

The death toll of the violence in Tripoli increased to 432 people, while the number of wounded hit 2,069, the World Health Organization (WHO) said Monday.

“Since the armed conflict in Tripoli began, 432 people have died, 2,069 people have been wounded, and more than 50,000 have had to flee their homes,” the WHO tweeted.

The conflicts also forced 42,000 people to flee their homes in Tripoli due to the shelling and armed attacks.
