HoR speaker claims GNA ‘illegitimate’

The Government of National Accord (GNA) is “illegitimate” and the 2015 Libyan Political agreement does not have a legal value, speaker of the House of Representatives (HoR) Aguila Saleh told Independent Arabia.

Saleh said the political dialogue has failed because it was signed without the consent of all Libyan parties.

He added that after the Libyan National Army (LNA) enters Tripoli, Libya will restore its “overthrown legitimacy.”

The supports the LNA’s advancement in the western region as Saleh previously said the parliament is satisfied with the progress of the operation and that it aims to “liberate” the capital from terrorist groups with minimal losses.

The parliament will prepare for the elections after the LNA ends its operation, launched April 4, to “uproot terrorist and armed groups from Tripoli, Aguila said.
