PC allocates LYD10 million for Gharyan

The Presidency Council allocated Saturday LYD10 million as an emergency budget for Gharyan.

This came during a visit by a delegation of the Presidency Council, led by Minister of Education, Othman Abdul Jalil; Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health, Mohamed Haitham; and Interior Minister, Fathi Bashaga.

The delegation provided the city support of LYD 150,000 alongside ambulances and medical supplies as the clashes have demolished some homes in the city.

Tensions had outbroken in Gharyan between the Government of National Accord (GNA) and the Libyan National Army (LNA) after the GNA launched a sudden attack on the city, the LNA’s main base.

GNA spokesperson Mohammed Qannouno said on Thursday the GNA launched eight airstrikes on the LNA’s operation room.

The LNA withdrew Wednesday from Gharyan following the clashes, which killed 20 members of the LNA and 10 others of the GNA while injuring 9 affiliated to the LNA.
