LNA statements about Turkish soldiers in Libya, ‘irresponsible’: GNA

The Government of National Accord  (GNA) denied firmly the existence of any Turkish soldiers inside Libya.

In a Saturday statement, GNA described the Libyan National Army statements on this regard as ‘irresponsible’.

GNA also reassured all nationals of foreign countries inside Libya including Turkish citizens, that it will ensure their safety.

In a Saturday statement, Libyan National Army (LNA) Ahmed al-Mismari said that their latest decisions against Turkey came as a result of their interferences in the Libyan affairs.

He added that Turkey became a direct party involved in ongoing war in the Capital, Tripoli.

Mismari pointed out that Turkish soldiers are fighting along side with Government of National Accord side against LNA inside Tripoli. He also referred that Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan admitted his participation to the ongoing war publicly.

On Friday, Mismari announced that air flights between Libya and Turkey have been halted.

He added in a press conference that any Turkish citizen spotted inside the Libyan territories will be arrested immediately.

He also explained that these procedures come as a result of the “Turkish interference” in the Libyan affairs, as Ankara has been allegedly providing terrorists and militia with weapons during the past period, which led to the violence acts in Tripoli.
