Gharyan’s power network to be maintained after LNA’s withdrawal

The emergency and crisis committee of the General Electricity Company decided on Tuesday to maintain the power network in Gharyan city, south of Tripoli.

During a meeting, the committee highlighted the basic needs of the residents, including the electricity network that has been damaged amid the war between the Government of National Accord (GNA) and the Libyan National Army (LNA).

To help the city, the Presidency Council also allocated on Saturday LYD 10 million as an emergency budget for Gharyan.

The Council provided the city with further support of LYD 150,000 alongside ambulances and medical supplies as the clashes demolished some homes in the city.

Tensions had outbroken in Gharyan between the GNA and the LNA after the GNA launched a sudden attack on the city, the LNA’s main base, forcing the eastern army to withdraw from the city.
