3rd Libyan Banking Sector Development Forum to be held in Tunis

The third annual Libyan Banking Sector Development Forum will be held in Tunis July 11-12 under the title of “Banks of the Future.”

The forum will discuss the latest developments in global financial technology, the legislation supporting and organizing it, the place of Libya in the world of financial technology, and what can be done to catch up with the global and regional developments in the banking sector.

The third edition will deal with main topics as: new techniques to automate banking procedures, block chain and its role in banking procedures, virtual banks and electronic payment laws, the role of insurance companies in banking transactions, and enhancing cyber security in the banking sector.

The themes of the conference address the role of investment funds in digital transformation and the promotion of cybersecurity in the banking sector.

A group of banks and financial companies, headed by Assaray Trade and Investment Bank, sponsors the forum. A number of local, Arab and international bankers, with experts and businessmen will attend the sessions of the forum.

On the sideline of the conference, an exhibition for banks and financial institutions will be held, and it will announce the establishment of the first financial technology laboratory Fintech Lab in Libya.

According to the conference’s website, “The banking sector in Libya is witnessing steady development, which makes it a fertile environment for many investment opportunities.”
