PC accuses LNA of attacking field hospital in southern Tripoli

The Presidency Council has denounced Saturday’s airstrikes that hit a field hospital in Zawiya district, southern Tripoli, killing at least four doctors and a paramedic and injuring eight others.

Although no party has claimed responsibility for the attack, the Presidency Council accused the Libyan National Army (LNA) of attacking the hospital.

The council said the GNA documents and monitors such crimes to bring the perpetrators and those who gave the orders before domestic and international judiciary.

The LNA is making progress towards Tripoli as General Commander Khalifa Haftar announced on Wednesday that the LNA and Libyan people are about to “raise the banner of victory” in Tripoli, and the Libyan capital will restore its position as the “city of peace without blackmail or threat.”

He stressed that the eastern army seeks to “liberate” the entire country from the armed groups and ensure a decent life for Libyans to be able to draw its future and enjoy Libya’s wealth.

Since the beginning of the military operation in western Libya in early April, medical facilities and ambulances in the Libyan capital have been subject to shelling.

Hospitals in Libya are also suffering from a shortage of medical supplies as they see an increase in patients. Libya’s medical professionals have been struggling to help patients in need due to a lack of supplies.
