Libya exports 5,000 tons of gas to Italy

Libya has exported a shipment of an estimated 5,000 tons of gas to Italy via the Victoria Gas tanker.

According to official data, Libya covers 15 percent of Italy’s natural gas needs through a pipeline from Mellitah Oil & Gas B.V. company to southern Italy.

Last month, The Lovina oil tanker shipped 600,000 barrels of crude oil from El Zuwaytinah port to be exported to Italy.

A maritime source told 218news earlier in July that the port is operating on a regular basis to manage oil exports.

According to head of the Libyan National Oil Corporation (NOC), Mustafa Sanallah, Italy is a traditional partner of NOC in Libya in terms of export operations or field development and the oil ports.
