HoR Foreign Affairs Committee: GNA poses threat to social fabric in Libya’s south

The Committee of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation at the Libyan House of Representatives (HoR) has blamed the Government of National Accord (GNA) for the deadly clashes happening in Murzuq in southern Libya.

The HoR committee said the GNA enlisted the help and recruited foreign armed groups in a blatant threat to the social fabric of Murzuq and to the unity as well as sovereignty of Libya.

“GNA has allowed criminal groups from inside and outside Libya to execute their agendas against the benefit of Libyans.” The committee explained.

It also called on the United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL) and the Security Council to take a decisive stance regarding the violations that are being committed by the GNA.

The HoR committee has urgently called on south Libya’s dignitaries and elders to renounce conflicts and look for the best interest of the country against foreign interventions.
