International intervention fuels war in Libya

Since war broke out in Tripoli last April, world countries have reiterated the need to cease fire and return to the political process, yet after six months of fighting, no country could convince the warring parties to lay down weapons, hence; raising the question: Is this war a form of misleading?

Observers believe that regional countries are supporting war parties with military reinforcement and therefore; they are impacting the the ongoing war and hindering a political solution since they couldn’t back up Libyan efforts that aimed for peaceful and national projects to end the conflict.

The chaos in Libya is accelerating because of the international and regional support for the warring parties for fear of their interests in Libya.

Despite the fact that the UN Security Council backs UN envoy’s plans for solution in Libya, the UNSMIL headed by Ghassan Salame has failed so far to contain the fighting among Libayns, which is seen as a result of the division among international and regional positions on Libya.
