La Repubblica: ISIS is making massive comeback through Libya

Italian newspaper, La Repubblica, has published an article on Libya titled “Libya: ISIS is attempting a comeback two steps away from Italy.”

The newspaper outlined the threats posted by the airstrikes of US AFRICOM on ISIS militants hiding in Libyan desert areas, warning that ISIS is trying to regroup and emerge after its defeat in different countries, hwnce; choosing Libya for its current instability and security vacuum.

It also pointed out that the US Secretary of State, Mike Pompeo, is visiting Italy on Tuesday. To observers, the visit shows the intensity of US concern about Libya and the return of US active role in it.

ISIS reemergence is becoming increasingly clear in Libya as reports suspect that many terrorists have fled the Middle East to Arab Maghreb area.

US Africa Command has killed 43 ISIS militants in airstrikes on southern Libya over the 12 past days alone, which showcases how concerning the signs for the return of ISIS to Libya are.
