Tripoli war will impact all African countries, Al-Sarraj says

The Head of the Presidential Council of the Government of National Accord Fayez Al-Sarraj met with the Russian president Vladimir Putin on the sidelines of Sochi Summit in Russia and reiterated that his forces are defending themselves againt the offensive on Tripoli that has being funded by foreign countries.

Al-Sarraj said negative foreign interventions in Libya led to the political and institutional division and that the repurcussions of the fighting in Tripoli that has been raging on for 7 months will be affecting neighboring countries and the entire African continent.

He also called on the international community to condemn “the aggression on Tripoli” and to draw a fine line between the attackers and the defenders in this war.

Al-Sarraj also reminded the attendees that the Libyan National Army started military operations in Tripoli days before the UN-scheduled Libyan National Conference in Ghadames, thus leading to its cancellation.
