Germany: No party will be exculded from Libya’s political process

The German Foreign Minister Heiko Maas held a meeting with the UNSMIL Head Ghassan Salame in Zuwara city on Sunday and confirmed that his country is not going to exclude any party in the Libyan political process, adding that they are working on establishing conditions for negotiations among all parties without external intervention as it has become the main setback in Libya.

Maas also reiterated in a previous meeting on Sunday with the Head of the Presidential Council Fayez Al-Sarraj in Zuwara that Germany has invited all Security Council permanent member states to attend Berlin conference to make sure the Security Council commits to the results of the upcoming conference, adding that some counties were invited so they ensure military supplies are halted.

The German Foreign Minister and his delegation arrived in Zuwara coming from Tunisia and discussed with Al-Sarraj the preparations of Berlin conference in the presence of Salame and other officials.

Meanwhile, Salame told reporters that Berlin conference is a new step by the international community to repair the damage done in Libya and that Germany is going to help in that, requesting a committee to be formed and tasked with following up on the results.
