Scenarios for ISIS in Libya after the killing of Al-Baghdadi

After The President of the US Donald Trump has confirmed the death of ISIS leader Abu Bakr Al-Baghdadi whose cells have foothold in Libya, many observers are asking about the fate of ISIS militants hiding in desert pockets.

The future of ISIS militants in Libya is now under question as to whether they are going to continue their terrorist attacks, stay in hiding or just disappear after they saw what happened to their leader Al-Baghdadi.

Libya is a bit different from other countries as many armed groups are active on its territory. Most of those groups don’t wait for Al-Baghdadi for institutions on their terrorist work, rather they act on grudge.

Experts on terrorist behavior say that ISIS in Libya could turn into smaller groups that would work on recruiting and fetching the remaining ISIS militants in Syria and Iraq to Libya, which is under an ongoing conflict, its borders are open without security and its deserts are controlled by all kinds of criminal gangs.

They also point out that ISIS could look for weak leaderships as the strength point for them was direct contact that was between the cells in Syria and Iraq.

Analysts also answer the question as to whether Libya would be ISIS next stop saying that Libyan security forces and citizens are facing a challenge that the militants might turn to Libya to regroup, thus all Libyans must be aware of what the country’s national security needs, especially that in Libya, there are terrorism-sponsors like Turkey.

With the latest US AFRICOM strikes againt ISIS in Libya’s desert and the announcement of AFRICOM that it had eliminated 25% of ISIS presence in Libya in four strikes, some other analysts believe that ISIS is going to be defeated under all circumstances and those who are left in Libya have two choices; confrontation or surrender.
