Sudanese Army denies sending soldiers to Libya

The Sudanese Army has stressed that its unbiased toward the ongoing conflict in Libya, denying the news about sending 1000 fighters from the Rapid Support Force to back up Libyan National Army forces under the command of Field Marshal Khalifa Haftar.

The spokesman for the Sudanese Army, Amer Mohammed Al-Hassan, told reporters that the army is committed to UN and international conventions and treaties that criminalize such behaviors, adding that the Sudanese Army isn’t a security firm that sends fighters to countries.

Al-Hassan said the news about sending Sudanese Army soldiers to fight in Libya is “a mere allegation that is adopted by the nationalistic organizations”.

These remarks came as a response by the Sudanese Army to the news about a UN report citing violation of arms embargo on Libya by Sudan as it alleged its RSF had sent 1000 soldiers to Libya in last July.
