LNA spokesman reveals details of attack on Al-Gurdabiya airbase in Sirte

The spokesman for the Libyan National Army Ahmed Al-Mismari has confirmed that Air Force warplanes targeted Tuesday night Al-Gurdabiya airbase in Sirte, hitting the armed groups and terrorist fighters as well as their ammunition.

Al-Mismari said in a press conference in Benghazi on Wednesday that the LNA vessels carried out surveillance missions in northern Sirte to prevent any ships from entering the Sirte waters, adding that there are targets which are set to be destroyed, calling on people to stay away from the gatherings of armed groups.

Al-Mismari said, referring to the armed groups, that their movements are all depicted by the LNA and that they can be targeted any time and at any area.

“GNA forces have started collapsing and are not able to fight the LNA forces and their advances in Heera Project area between Al-Aziziya and Gharyan mountain. Our Air Force warplanes targeted different positions in Ain Zara and our ground troops are still marching on toward Tripoli.” Al-Mismari said.
