Could Germany produce a solution for Libya’s crisis?

Germany is famous for manufacturing strong machines that are considered the best in the world and they are often put in comparisons for Germany’s political, economic and sports activities and stances and for that, Germany is a potential incumbent of a sixth permanent seat at the UN Security Council. Yet, Germany hasn’t been seen as very tough in dealing with international crises, including the Libyan one that is entering its ninth year in next February.

Germany is approaching nowadays the Libyan crisis after German diplomats tried resolving it for some time. It is now preparing for an international conference on Libya to find a political and military solution after three European parties failed to provide one in the last few years since they couldn’t put their own interests and differences aside.

The next week will see Berlin as a balanced European party that has economic power to be put on the table to negotiate a solution acceptable for all Libyan warring parties.

Over the last three years, France gathered the Libyan main parties twice and tried to produce a solution, while now Berlin, which didn’t approve Security Council 2011 resolution to intervene in Libya at the time, is trying to find a political and diplomatic solution without any biased stances in the Libyan crisis, which gives Germany the upper hand to other European countries.

Still, many international parties think the German machines can devise a suitable solution and initiative for Libyans and to outline the failure of a political elite that has done nothing over the last few years.
