About 300 immigrants rescued and returned to Libya

The Libyan coast guard rescued Thursday dawn 289 illegal immigrants on boats heading to European shores.

A source told 218News that the immigrants were 242 men and 33 women, who were all brought back to Tripoli port after taking off on their risky journey from Garabulli, Al-Zawiya and Zuwara.

The source added that the International Organization for Migration went to the assistance of the immigrants, who were all in good health conditions, denying that any of them were injured or drowned.
