Mediapart: Sarkozy’s advisor received 440k euros from Gaddafi

A report by French Mediapart has accused former adviser of former President Nicolas Sarkozy, Thierry Gaubert, of receiving 440.000 euros from Moammar Gaddafi’s money.

The report showed the transfer procedures at Rossfiled Bank in the Bahamas, which is owned by Lebanese businessman Ziyad Taqi Eddeen who was a mediator between Gaddafi and Sarkozy during the latter’s elections campaign. The second day, the money was transferred to Gaubert’s account, yet he denied the money was from Libya.

Sarkozy is awaiting a trial on March 19 for charges of corruption and illicit funding of his elections campaign as well as embezzlement, all of which were denied by Sarkozy.
