Egypt and Germany agree on solutions to Libya’s crisis

The situation in Libya has been the talk subject on a phone call between the Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi and German Chancellor Angela Merkel. They both reiterated the need for more efforts to resolve the crisis in Libya with all sides involved.

The spokesman for the Egyptian Presidency Bassam Radi said Merkel had reiterated her keenness on exchanging viewpoints with El Sisi on the latest developments in Libya, saying Berlin is working on finding a political solution to the Libyan crisis.

Meanwhile, El Sisi reiterated Egypt’s stance that aims at the stability and unity of Libya and supports efforts of fighting terrorism and extremist militias that pose threats to Libya, the Middle East and Mediterranean region.

El Sisi reiterated the need for ending illegal foreign interventions in Libya, saying Egyptian efforts aim to materialize Libyans’ aspirations for stability and development.
